A TPO profile and the daily Initial Balance on one overlay.
TPO Profile answers two questions: where has the market spent its time, and what did the opening auction decide? The TPO profile answers the first and the Initial Balance the second, each drawn cleanly and each switchable.
It draws the structure; the read, and the trade, stay with you. It replaces Black Tide TPO on this site and is free to add to any chart.
The session is split into time blocks, and each block marks every price it traded, as letters, blocks or both; each letter keeps one colour for its whole block. Wide rows are prices the market kept coming back to; thin rows are prices it passed through. Completed sessions can stay behind as silhouettes, coloured by class: outside value, inside value and POC.
02
The row grid
Rows are sized automatically to TradingView's own TPO steps, or by a fixed number of ticks per row. When row size follows the live range, the profile is rebuilt as the range grows, and every completed profile is rebuilt on the same grid with its levels and single prints, so sessions line up row for row.
03
Value area and POC
VAH, POC and VAL for every session, each with its own controls. Left as they are, the lines end at their own profile; with Extend on, a line runs to the live bar and stops where price trades back through it. Step arrows show which way each developing level last moved.
04
Mid, poor extremes and single prints
Mid marks the middle of the session's range. A Poor High or Poor Low is drawn when the extreme row holds more than one TPO: an auction that ended without finishing. Single prints shade the thin gaps a fast move left behind, until price fills them.
05
Initial Balance
The range the opening auction set, read from the symbol's own regular session, so there is no time or timezone to enter. Drawn as lines that carry IB High, Mid and Low forward through the day, or as a box that keeps stretching with the live candle. The IB and row-grid values can also be sent to the Data Window for other scripts to read.
TPO Profile Pro
Everything in TPO Profile, plus the levels each session leaves behind carried forward, Initial Balances on your own session windows, a Degrees of Power meter and one alert stream. It draws the structure; the read, and the trade, stay with you.
01
Previous-day and naked levels
Yesterday's and older untested VAH, POC and VAL carry forward until price trades back through them. A level tested today turns grey and keeps trailing until the period rolls.
02
Naked-level memory and higher periods
Completed levels are kept in memory rather than drawings, so a level from months back returns as price comes near it, past TradingView's drawing cap. Weekly, monthly and yearly value areas feed the same memory, with the latest of each starred.
03
Session Initial Balances
Beside the daily IB, session IBs on your own windows and timezones (Asia, London, New York), with IBR extensions projecting the range.
04
Degrees of Power
One gauge for how hard price is leaning: price against today's IB, today's developing value, the prior value area and the prior day's range. A read, not a call; it also goes to the Data Window for other scripts.
05
One alert stream
Naked level tagged, value-area entry or exit, IB breaks, extension reached, Degrees of Power flips and levels. Every event is read at the bar's close, so an alert never un-fires.

Read value as where the session accepted price, and the POC as where it spent the most time.
Turn on Extend for the levels you trade from, so they run until price answers them.
Read the Initial Balance as what the open decided, and the rest of the day as accepting or rejecting that decision.
Keep History on Silhouette on long charts. The letter modes are the expensive ones.
Good to know
Made for intraday charts, at or below the block size. It counts time, not volume; for a volume profile, see Black Tide Volume.
A charting aid, not a signal generator: it draws no entries, stops or targets.
TradingView's built-in Time Price Opportunity measures to the rightmost visible bar and recalculates only when it is added or reset, or the symbol or timeframe changes, so compare the two on the live bar.
The built-in TPO still goes deeper in places, such as splitting and merging profiles, which no Pine script can offer.
Questions
Is this Black Tide TPO?
It replaces Black Tide TPO on this site. TPO Profile is its own script on TradingView, free to add to any chart: the profile, its row grid, each session's levels and the daily Initial Balance.
Why don't my levels match TradingView's own TPO?
The two can measure differently. The built-in TPO measures to the rightmost visible bar and recalculates only at certain moments, while TPO Profile builds on its own row grid. Compare them on the live bar.
Why are there no Poor High or Poor Low lines on some days?
They appear only when the session's extreme row is flat and unfinished, and only when you switch them on. A sharp extreme is a rejection, so on many sessions neither shows.
Which timeframe should I use?
An intraday timeframe at or below the block size, so each block is built from several candles.
