Check your server
Type the server name as MT5 shows it (at least 3 letters), for example Exness-MT5Real8.
Where do I find my server name?
- MT5 on a computer: File › Login to Trade Account, the Server field.
- MT5 on a phone: Settings, under your account name.
- Or the account-opening email from your broker.
This checks the name against the servers auto-sync knows; nothing is linked yet. Linking in the Journal checks your investor password with the broker.

Questions
Does it work with MT4?
Not for auto-sync or report import yet: both read MetaTrader 5. You can enter MT4 trades by hand.
Can I link a prop firm account?
Yes, if it is an MT5 account and you have its investor password. Some firms may not give one out, and it is worth checking your firm’s rules first.
Is the investor password safe?
It only reads the account: it cannot open or close a trade. It goes straight to MetaApi and we do not keep it; a master (trading) password is refused. See the Privacy Policy.
Which plan do I need?
Auto-sync comes with Journal Pro (one account, more can be added). Report import and manual entry work on every plan. See the plans.
My broker is not on the list. Can I still use auto-sync?
Likely: the list shows only some of the brokers. Type your server in the check above; if auto-sync does not know it, write to us, and the MT5 report always works.
